What’s different about my online courses

There’s a world of difference between an everyday online course and the profound insights that can be gained from a course that is conducted in a well-crafted high-level virtual space.

Virtual spaces

People sometimes ask me if it’s possible to participate in my online courses if they are in a different time zone to the UK, say in Australia or the US. They are worried they will have to be online at a particular time, which could be in the middle of the night where they are.

I doubt I will ever run courses like that. Most courses have participants from 20 to 30 countries, so it would be impossible to stream a live event at a time that would suit everyone.

Being aware of this from the start, all my online courses have been designed in a message board format that all registered participants have 24-hour access to. While a course is in progress, they can log on at any time to read my posts, read other people’s posts and make their own posts. I add a new step every three days, which allows ample time for everyone to keep up, no matter where in the world they live or what hours they work.

This is very different to the usual type of online course where you watch a video of someone telling you what to do, which you might then act on or not. My courses go much deeper because of the interactive format and the virtual space each one is conducted in. This means the success rate of people taking the courses is also much higher.

The interactive format of the courses

An essential aspect of my courses is being able to interact with me and the other participants. When you have successes, you can share them. If you get stuck, you can get expert help. You feel supported, not alone. Carried on the wave of the group’s collective enthusiasm and resolve, most people find they are able to do far more than they could ever do by themselves.

And did I mention that clutter clearing becomes fun? When you first start my courses, you may find this hard to believe. But what you’ll discover is that the process of reclaiming your life through clearing your clutter is very uplifting. With the right techniques to get past whatever hurdles you personally need to overcome, it truly becomes enjoyable.

Virtual spaces

One of the unusual skills I’ve pioneered and developed over the last 45+ years is not just the ability to create high-level spaces in buildings, but also in virtual spaces.

I developed this ability during 2003-2012, while working remotely with space clearing practitioners to help them continue to develop their skills. Space clearing is not just about clearing energies out of physical locations. It’s also about creating high-level spaces in those locations, and this can be transposed very effectively to creating virtual spaces too.

In 2013, I decided to start offering public online courses, so I set up some software that would allow me to do this through virtual spaces that could be tailored to the topic each course was about. For those of you reading this who have taken my Seven Levels of Consciousness online course, the type of virtual spaces I’m talking about here are not at the mundane level of everyday life or chatty social media, which is what I call Level 6. The spaces start at Level 5 and go up.

Level 6 is where clutter exists and all the stories about it – how you acquired it, what it means to you, how you find it difficult to let it go, and so on. People who have clutter tend to be stuck in that level, circling around and around the same loop, going nowhere.

The virtual spaces I create for my courses start at Level 5, which is the level of questioning things, wanting to change, looking for deeper meaning and starting to gain insights. Clutter clearing is not just about letting go of things. To be really effective, it’s essential to understand why it accumulated in the first place. If you don’t do that, it will all just pile up again.

My courses also feel very safe. On a practical level, this is because participants only use their first name or can choose to use an alias if they prefer. No contact information or email addresses are ever shared and all posts are deleted as soon as a course finishes. I go to great lengths to protect everyone’s privacy. The integrity of the virtual space is also a major factor. Some people tell me they have shared things in my courses that they have never told another human being, yet they feel perfectly safe to share them with everyone in the group.

It’s moments like that, and the Level 4 realizations participants have about their clutter, that are so life-changing. Understanding why you have felt the need to have clutter causes it to lose its power over you. Your relationship with it is never the same after that. You get to see your life from a completely different perspective and move on.

Online courses

To my knowledge, no one else in the world is offering public online courses that are conducted in high-level virtual spaces such as this. The skill has emerged from 45+ years of space clearing expertise, and my husband, Richard, has mastered it too. It’s what makes his online Clutter Clearing and Personal Insight sessions and Kick-Start Clutter Clearing classes so transformational.

Many people return to take my courses again and again, in the same way that they read my book, Clear Your Clutter with Feng Shui, and get more from it each time. That’s because levels of knowledge have been woven into both my courses and my books, and each time someone returns, they discover deeper levels they didn’t notice or weren’t ready to see before.

Many people tell me they also return simply to be immersed in the virtual space of a course, which they can tangibly feel when a course starts and can really miss after it ends. It nurtures higher parts of them that other online courses don’t even come close to. It’s like super fuel for the soul, to help you get your life on track.

At first I used to worry when people returned to take my courses again and again. I thought maybe I hadn’t done a good job first time around. But I soon learned that each course helps to open doors. When someone is ready, they will walk through them. One person I vividly remember took ten courses with me over a period of years and it wasn’t until the fifth course that something in her ignited and she really engaged clutter clearing full tilt. After that, she was unstoppable, as you can tell from this article about her: Total eclipse of a room full of clutter

Clutter clearing courses

If you need help with clutter clearing, I warmly invite you to try one of the online clutter clearing courses I’m currently offering:

Most people take the courses in the order they are presented. This works well because each is designed to build on skills learned in the preceding course. However, they all interweave and complement each other, so it doesn’t matter too much which one you begin with.

There are two other clutter clearing courses for those who want to go further:

And there are three more courses that many people go on to take after they have done clutter clearing:

So I hope this gives you a deeper understanding of what’s different about my courses. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them here.

  1. Your course offerings sound acessible to me…unsubtitled videos (CC-Closed Captioned in U.S.A.) and lots texted support with secure privacy controls. I am deaf so texts are important to help me stay in the loop. Have you heard from 80+ women with health/mobility limitations achieve successes – great and small – in their clutter clearing process?

    1. Hi Sharon – My courses contain no videos at all. They consist entirely of texts posted to a secure message board, which allows people to move at their own pace and go much deeper. Many 80+ year-olds and several deaf people have achieved great clutter clearing results using my methods, so you’ll be in great company. The courses attract people from a wide age range because it’s possible to accumulate clutter at any stage of life.

  2. Alas, I have several areas of clutter in my life that collected especially after moving from my 3-bedroom marital home into shared housing, and now a one bedroom apartment, post divorce. (Though if I’m honest, I have deeply woven hoarder tendencies that have been in both sides of my family for generations.) After reading your book, I feel ready to tackle the 4 storage units and my hopelessly piled up apartment, but find myself overwhelmed and sad when attempting. Do you reckon it’s reasonable to tackle them all during your course in October? I can arrange to work only 3-4 days per week during that time…

I have read all your testimonials but wonder – do folks tend to do one room only or…?

Thank you in advance for your response.

    1. Hi MJ – My Fast Track Clutter Clearing course has been designed so that each person can do clutter clearing at their own pace. But, more importantly, you will learn the techniques to confidently continue the process by yourself if you find you need longer than 21 days.

  3. Hello! I am planning to attend your course next month. If I join this course and decide to join when the same course reopens, so I have to pay the class fee again? Thanks!

    1. Hi Neill – My courses do not consist of video recordings that you can replay. They are live events that I personally conduct. They are tailored to the participants of each group, where each person is able to ask questions that are relevant to their situation. This means each course is unique. If you decide at a later date to take the same course again, it will be a different (and usually deeper) experience and you will need to pay again.

For many people, one course is all they need to get themselves sorted out. So I suggest you start by taking the Fast Track Clutter Clearing course (there are still some places available) and aim to make as much progress as you possibly can with that. Hopefully you’ll find you won’t need to take the course again 🙂
