Richard and I have been based in the UK for nearly seven years since leaving Bali in 2010 and we’ve really enjoyed our time here. But recently it’s become clear to us that we’ve done what we came here to do and it’s time to move on.
We’re not sure yet exactly which part of the country we’ll settle in, but that’s definitely where we are headed. We just need to sell our house in the UK and transfer our business down under, and if all goes smoothly, we hope to be there by early to mid 2017. We’re really looking forward to it.
Here’s some information about how this move may affect you…
If you’re based in the UK or EU and have been meaning to book a consultation with Richard or I, you’ll need to get your skates on. We’re expecting a lot of requests in the coming months. More information
After we move, online courses will become 20% cheaper for everyone based in the UK and the EU because we will no longer have to charge UK sales tax. If you’re based in the US or anywhere outside the UK or EU, there will be no change, except if you’re in Australia, where course prices will increase by 10% GST.
However there may be quite a long break after the current series of courses in September, October and November 2016, depending on when the move happens. So if you’ve been planning to take a course and haven’t yet done so, you may want to get on board for the ones that are starting soon:
Space clearing products
After we move to Australia, space clearing products will become 20% cheaper for everyone based in the UK and EU, but this may be balanced out by increased shipping costs from Australia. For those of you based elsewhere in the world, there will be no change, except for Australians (sorry – you’ll have to pay 10% more).
But even before this move was decided, we already knew that we would have to increase prices in 2017 because production costs in Bali have more than doubled in the last six years. So if there is any item you have been planning to buy, you may like to know that the best time to do so will be before the end of 2016, when you can also take advantage of much better currency exchange rates since the Brexit vote. Workshops and professional trainings
We don’t yet know if it will work best for us to fly back to the UK to teach workshops and trainings or if we will only offer them in Australia and nearby countries from now on. Look out for announcements about this in the early part of next year.
The last opportunity to come to a talk given by Richard and I in the UK will be on October 10 near Malvern, Worcestershire. More info & booking
Changes to my website
The main change you will see on my website after the move is that all prices will change to Aussie dollars instead of British pounds. I’m planning to install a currency converter to make it easy for everyone to see prices in their own currency.
Oh, and my blogs may become peppered with Australian slang. It’s a rich and colourful language that I’m sure I’ll find hard to resist. Choice phrases that come to mind are ‘as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike’ (not useful), ‘budgie smugglers’ (men’s swimwear), and a personal favourite, ‘going off like a frog in a sock’ (going beserk).
So there you are. You know as much as we know now. More announcements to follow as the move progresses.
